Our Fav' Christmas Displays on HK Island ๐ŸŽ„๐ŸŽ๐ŸŽ…๐Ÿป

Christmas is in the air! Itโ€™s that time of the year again for giving, receiving and of course, taking lots of photos!

Don't intend to or didnโ€™t yet manage to get yourself a Christmas tree? Fret not, there are plenty of places in our neighbourhood to pose for those festive snaps. For you, LocalHood Official volunteers Chris, Fiona and Irene checked out some of the beautiful, and sometimes whacky displays available in town.

Pacific Place

Send yourself on a vacation to the Mt. Christmas Resort in Pacific Place, hosted by the Yeti family, where you can experience virtual skiing, participate in online Christmas workshops, watch live performances by the Hong Kong Philharmonic, meet a secret Christmas friend and of course, Santa and lots of gifts will be there waiting for you!

Location: Pacific Place, 88 Queensway, Admiralty

Opening hours: 19 Nov 2021 โ€“ 2 Jan 2022 (Mon to Sun 10:00 to 22:00)

Island Shangri-La

They may not have the fanciest Christmas display in town, but if you were checking out Pacific Place anyway, consider heading also to Shangri-La upstairs, where there are some gems to be discovered. Snap a photo with some cute elves or even Santa (reservations required), ogle at the exquisitely-made chocolate soldiers and gingerbread houses, or bring home an advent calendar filled with yummy treats.

Location: Above Pacific Place

Opening dates: 19 Nov - 25โ€ฏDec 2022

Landmark

This year, the Landmark is taking you on a โ€œShare Joyโ€ ride with a collection of whimsical games and toys. In the Joy House, you can whizz down the slinky slide, take on the Dinoshaun Challenge, or meet your favourite toy friends amongst the colourful decorations.

Your joy would also be bringing hope and happiness to the wider community, as proceeds from the event will be donated to Landmarkโ€™s partner charities (Hong Kong Council of Service, Make-A- Wish Hong Kong and Mind HK).

Location: Landmark,15 Queenโ€™s Road Central, Central

Opening hours: From now - 2โ€ฏJan 2022 (Mon to Sun 10:00 to 20:00)

IFC Mall

Going nowhere seems to be the norm these days, what with cruises to nowhere, flights to nowhere.. and now you can take a train to nowhere! Bittersweet jokes aside, IFC has indeed put on a beautiful and charming display with a train station and replica of the Orient Express train. Climb aboard to experience what luxury rail travel was like back in the 1880s. Donโ€™t forget to grab a free postcard from the Post Office, which you can emboss with a train symbol. There will be live accordion music performances too, to get you into that Christmas mood. Check out the website for exact timings.

Location: Oval Atrium, Podium Level One, IFC Mall, 8 Finance St, Central

Opening hours: 23 Nov 2021 - 2โ€ฏJan 2022 (Mon to Sun 10:00 to 19:00)

Lee Tung Avenue

This Christmas, Lee Tung Avenue welcomes you to join its "Glaring Festival" with 12 Disney Princesses. Endless excitement is waiting for you there such as "Shine like a princess" Disney princess lighting, Christmas music and light symphony, joyful food carriage, snow shows, and a โ€œGlaringโ€ princess party! Donโ€™t miss this one.

Location: 200 Queen's Rd E, Wan Chai

Opening hours: 25 Nov 2021 โ€“ 2 Jan 2022 (10:00 to 22:00 (lights will be on at 5pm))

Times Square

Here at Times Square, discover a Sparkling Wonderland with numerous jolly lights that shine like a diamond! We love that the displays at Times Square are based on the creations of a local Hong Kong artist called Pucky (check out more of her work here: https://www.facebook.com/puckyart/photos). Indulge yourself in her dreamy fairytale world and enjoy some fun activities, such as hunting for missing Beanies using your phone, or walking through the gorgeous Pucky Christmas Tunnel and discovering different Pucky characters.

Opening hours: 25 Nov 2021 - 2 Jan 2022 (10:00 โ€“ 22:00 (open to public from 8:30pm onwards on 25 Nov 2021)
