The Crochet Craft: La Belle Epoque

If you have visited the new Kennedy Town Harbor front, you wouldn't have missed the colorful crochet dolls sitting there to greet you. Meet La Belle Epoque, the creative master company behind those dolls. The name of the company is reminiscent of the luxurious and elegant lifestyle that flourished in France in the 19th and 20th century.

The business that once started as a tiny shop in Tai Hang over 10 years ago has expanded their services to a wide spectrum now2. You can visit their cosy and rather beautiful shop in Fortress Hill to buy the intricate ready-made dolls or order a customized crochet art piece for yourself. They also conduct workshops for different skill sets and here you can learn everything from a crochet cactus to home decorations and accessories.

La Belle Epoque's unique craftsmanship and handmade appeal has enabled it attract several banks, pharmaceutical companies and shopping malls for advertising pop ups and showcases. The company has been able to provide its unique sense of art to help a lot of big names in Hong Kong market successfully.

And now finally meet the inspiration behind it all, the company's founder Billie Ng, who was previously the creative director for an advertising firm. Her background enables her to communicate well with clients because she knows what they are concerned about. She says that she wants to always create something beautiful and to be able to do that from scratch is just purely fulfilling. Well we would also like to have one such job that is so inspiring and gives such beautiful results.
